Finally we’re up and running! This is our first blog post ever and it feels pretty exciting! We are hoping for a lot of good talks in here and we hope that you find our journey exciting.
Since this is our first post we would like to introduce ourselves. We are a couple (Maria and Adam) in life and in business and we recently decided to follow our dream and create Wishful Whale. Wishful Whale is an indie game studio based in Gothenburg, Sweden and right now we’re working on our first game, Planet of Lana. We are two thirty-something friendly people. We have two kids, Cleo is our first born and she's turning 3 in a couple of months and Ebba is only 4 months old. We like food, video games, other friendly people and to get some sleep (we don't necessarily get much of that). We also strive to become better humans as we go!
Planet of Lana is our passion project. Adam dreamt of making video games since he was a child and Maria wanted to find a creative outlet to reach people and create something beautiful. Together we want to design the best game that we possibly can. We want to make a game that we ourselves would like to play and see on the market. A game that stays with people, a memory that lasts.
Can we do this though? Some might say that with a new baby and a relentless toddler it’s not really the right time to start a business. Or that we should focus on buying a house and that we don’t have enough experience in the gaming industry. Well, obviously we don't strive to take the safe path in life and truth is, we don’t know. We don't pretend to know it all or to have all the right answers to everything that we do. We only know that we have a vision and that we will work very hard and do our very best to see it through. With that said this is obviously going to be a huge challenge. But that's life! And we want to make the most of it.
This blog is going to be about Lana and her two-dimensional world, about our mission bringing her to life. About the good stuff and the less good stuff. About two people having a dream, about our journey.
Come along, follow and comment! We promise to be less corny in the future.
Xoxo, Maria & Adam
